Crashed Plane Diorama

This is an early project done for one of my first classes at Gnomon School of Visual Effects for Texturing and Shading. The entire scene was provided without textures and it was our final project to produce a finished render. With my interests in tabletop wargaming and miniature painting, the WWII style crashed plane immediately brought to mind the historical model plane kits traditionally associated with the hobby and I thought the scene would work exquisitely as a miniature diorama appropriately painted and textured in those techniques. In compositing, I added a tilt-shift camera effect to emphasize the small scale of the scene. This project was invaluable to my journey in texturing and shading and introduced me to what I could accomplish with those skills.

Thank you to my instructor Rex Privratsky for their critique and assistance they provided all throughout the process.
